Parks photo, poetry contest launched

Contest pictureBellevue is seeking photographs and/or poems inspired by the city's parks. Selected works from the "City in a Park" contest will be published in the 2010 Bellevue Parks & Open Space System Plan and other city exhibit spaces.

Bellevue's extensive park system includes nearly 100 parks as well as trails and open spaces, which provide opportunities for passive and active recreation for all ages.

The contest is open to anyone who lives, works or plays in Bellevue. The selection panel will include art experts and city representatives.

Entries are due by 5 p.m., Feb. 1, 2010. One poem and/or photo entry is allowed per person. Poems and photos do not need to relate to one another. Photo entries can be from any season and photo waivers are required if photo entries includes images of people.
