Clear skies and a smooth schedule will allow workers to reopen Northeast 12th Street between 120th and 124th avenues Northeast more than a week ahead of schedule.

The full closure was scheduled to run from Monday, June 18, through the afternoon of Monday, July 2, depending on the weather. Instead, the roadway will reopen by 6 p.m. today. Remaining work, being done by Epic Construction, will be accomplished using lane closures in the construction area.

The rehabilitation and maintenance work on that section of 12th Street, an overpass, included sandblasting the bridge deck, applying a concrete sealer, replacing expansion joints, repairing the sidewalk and reconfiguring the median island west of the bridge.
