A tribute to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and a health resource fair will be at Crossroads Bellevue on Monday, Jan. 21, noon to 3 p.m., on the Market Stage. The Martin Luther King Day event at the shopping center at 156th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Eighth Street is free.
Entertainment The event will kick off with speaker Pastor Darren Elliot of Christian City Church in Seattle, followed by the youth-oriented Bellevue Elite Cheer Squad. Other performers include the Seattle Peace Chorus and Hal Jackson's Talented Teens of Washington.
Attendees will have the opportunity to dance to the pulsating rhythms of the Ocheami African Drum and Dance group. Closing the festivities will be the Sonny Byers Band, known for vibrant classic rhythm and blues music.
Health Fair The health fair will feature more than 20 representatives from nonprofit and public agencies in King County, and will provide attendees with valuable health information and available services in the area.
The health fair is sponsored by the Bellevue Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. The Bellevue Parks & Community Services Cultural Diversity Program and Crossroads Bellevue are co-sponsors with Delta Sigma Theta for the entire event.
