The "Live at Lunch" free summer concert series kicks off this week. The Bellevue Downtown Association's annual series features shows on Wednesdays this year, in addition to Tuesdays and Thursdays, bringing the 10-week outdoor concert total to 30.
Live at Lunch will again feature regional bands and artists who cover a wide range of styles and genres. The series begins Tuesday with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra Quartet at Skyline Tower (10900 NE Fourth St.), followed by jazz singer Greta Matassa Wednesday at City Hall (450 110th Ave. NE) and U2 tribute band U277 at Bellevue Galleria (550 106th Ave. NE) Thursday.
Tuesday and Wednesday concerts will take place in outdoor plazas and open spaces throughout Downtown Bellevue, while Bellevue Galleria's Compass Plaza hosts each Thursday concert. The annual "rockaraoke" contest will be Aug. 20 at Bellevue Galleria. Schedule
Concert goers can enter to win two Southwest Airlines tickets and lunch for two for a year at Tap House Grill or Palomino. The BDA has also teamed with Hopelink's End Summer Hunger Campaign to host a receiving site for cash or food donations at the Thursday concerts at the Bellevue Galleria. Donations will help restock Hopelink's summer food bank.
Each Live at Lunch concert will also host sign-ups for the BDA's Walk Downtown Bellevue campaign, cosponsored by the City of Bellevue. Participants will receive a free Walk Downtown Bellevue starter kit with an Overlake Hospital pedometer, Group Health water bottle, Downtown Bellevue walking map and reusable BECU shopping bag.
Live at Lunch is produced by the BDA and sponsored by the Bellevue Galleria, US Bank, Puget Sound Energy, Bellevue Reporter, Unico, Palomino Bellevue, Southwest Airlines, Tap House Grill, Ilium, MOVIN 92.5, 94.1 KMPS, 98.9 KWJZ, 96.5 JACK FM, AM 880 KIXI, AM 1090, and 102.5 FM KZOK.
