Bellevue's Government Organization
A city council comprised of seven elected members governs Bellevue. The mayor and deputy mayor are both council members, chosen by the others to serve two-year terms. The mayor cannot veto council decisions, but acts as both its chairperson and the city's official host. Residents also have a voice in Bellevue's government through several volunteer boards and commissions
The city manager is chief executive of the city, working under the direction of the council. Staff assigned to departments including Development Services, Parks & Community Services, Utilities and Transportation, provide essential services to residents.
