The Bellevue Fire Department celebrates Fire Prevention Week with open houses Saturday at all nine stations and readings by firefighters during the week at local libraries.
Firefighters at local libraries
Firefighters will read to children at both Bellevue libraries:
- Wednesday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m., Newport Way Library, 14250 SE Newport Way
- Thursday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m., Bellevue Regional Library, 1111 110th Ave. NE
The fire stations will welcome neighbors on Saturday, Oct. 11, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The firefighters will be on hand to answer questions and show the fire trucks and stations. Free cookies, juice and coffee will available.
Child car seat collection
King County Public Health, in association with the Bellevue Fire Department, will host a used child car seat collection at Station 9 (12412 SE 69th Way). Public health centers will redistribute the seats to low-income families in Seattle and King County. The seats must be less than six years old, never been in a collision, not be on a recall list and be in good working order.
