Writers wanted for community council ballot proposition statements

As state law requires every four years, residents of East Bellevue must vote on whether their community council will continue to exist. The East Bellevue Community Council will accept applications from residents interested in helping formulate the statements that will appear in the voters' pamphlet for and against the ballot measure.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must reside within the boundaries of the East Bellevue Community Municipal Corporation. The East Bellevue Community Council has the authority to approve or disapprove of designated land use issues within its jurisdiction.

The statement for and against (in addition to a rebuttal of the opposing statement) will appear in the King County Local Voters' Pamphlet to be published for the Nov. 3 general election.

To apply, please complete an online community service application. The Apply for Vacancies page explains how you can pick up a hard copy of the application or download a PDF of it. Applications are due by 5 p.m., June 30.
