Marijuana grow operation busted

On November 4th at approximately 11:00 p.m., Eastside Narcotics Task Force (ENTF) detectives served a search warrant for an indoor marijuana grow in the 5200 block of NE 4th Place in Renton. The grow was located in a two-story rental house, located within a mile of Hazen High School and Maplewood Heights Elementary.

ENTF Detectives entered the home and discovered an extensive marijuana grow operation including 605 mature marijuana plants and 71 pounds of dried marijuana.  The retail value of the seized marijuana is estimated to be over $1,000,000.

The house interior was badly damaged from the marijuana grow. There were multiple holes in the floor, walls and ceiling.  Water damage was also evident throughout the home.

Grow materials collected as evidence included:  55 hoods, 55 lighting ballasts and 61 light bulbs.   ENTF detectives also located an underground power diversion to the rental home.

There are no suspects currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

"This is a significant marijuana seizure by the Eastside Narcotics Task Force. We continue in our efforts to combat drug trafficking in King County and the greater Eastside. ENTF is comprised of a team of dedicated detectives from Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, King County, Mercer Island, and the Washington State Patrol whose mission is to continue to chip away at these illegal operations," stated ENTF Commander Steve Lynch.
