City Council members Monday chose seven candidates to interview for the seat vacated in January by Connie Marshall.
The candidates, selected from among 21 city residents who applied for the seat, will be interviewed during public session at next Tuesday's regularly-scheduled council meeting, Feb. 19, at City Hall.
The Council could decide on Marshall's replacement when it meets the following Monday, Feb. 25.
The seven candidates chosen were, in alphabetical order:
- Patsy Bonincontri
- Mike Creighton
- Betina Finley
- David Karle
- Lise Northey
- Jennifer Robertson
- Kenneth Schiring
The successful candidate will complete the two years remaining in Marshall's term, which extends until the general election in November 2009.
Marshall was elected to the council for three consecutive terms, and served as mayor for two terms. Last month Marshall, saying she had accomplished what she had hoped to as a council member, announced her resignation effective Jan. 22.
City Council meetings convene at 6 p.m. in the Council Conference Room. The meetings can be viewed live on Channel 21, Bellevue TV, also streamed through the city's website. See Bellevue TV.
