To help local businesses seize opportunities in China, the Bellevue Office of Economic Development is offering a series of free workshops.
The last of the three workshops for "Roadmap to Success in China" is set for Tuesday, July 8, 2 to 5 p.m., at City Hall, in Council Chambers.
Guest speakers will include a lawyer whose practice emphasizes investment in China; a banker who knows about securing loans in China and the business development manager with the state Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development.
Topics to be covered will include techniques for starting a business in Asia's economic juggernaut and how to ship products to and from China.
Manny Menendez, managing partner with Noble Pacific Holdings LLC, is keynote speaker. The other speakers are:
- Allen Clark, partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, who recently returned from living in China, where he was partner in charge of the law firm's Shanghai office and acted as a client advisor;
- Jesse Tam, president and chief executive officer of Regal Financial Bank, which emphasizes international banking and makes a special effort to serve immigrant clients; and
- Karl da Gama Campos with the the Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development.
