The Great Community Workshop Series continues in 2010 with "Building Blocks for Neighborhood Projects," which will provide a quick "how-to" guide for planning and implementing a successful project.
All it takes is a leader who can rally a few neighbors to participate and some organization and enthusiasm. The Neighborhood Outreach team will give residents the tools they need to be that leader at the workshop, Thursday, Jan. 28, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall, Room 1E-112. Possible projects include community events, neighborhood clean-ups and fundraisers. A neighborhood project can be the catalyst to bring a community together. Topics will include organization, holding effective meetings, budgeting, marketing, outreach and evaluation.
The Neighborhood Outreach team organized six Great Community workshops in 2008 and 2009, which explored a variety of topics, including neighborhood organizing, communication skills and conflict resolution. Workshop space is limited. For more information or to RSVP, contact Patricia Knight at pknight@bellevuewa.gov or Julie Ellenhorn at jellenhorn@bellevuewa.gov.
