Bellevue TV wins national awards again

Bellevue Television has received eight awards, including two first-place honors, from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and BTV producer David Bruckner films host Robin Haaseth for segment of "It's Your City."Advisors (NATOA). 

For the second consecutive year, the "It's Your City" program placed first in the magazine format series category. "Moving Bellevue Forward," a segment produced for "It's Your City," placed first in the public education category.

Other "It's Your City" segments that received awards include:

NATOA issues government programming awards each year to recognize excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies. The 2007 awards were presented at the annual NATOA conference on Oct. 5 in Portland, Ore. 

This year, NATOA received more than 1,200 entries representing 180 agencies from 31 states and/or provinces across the United States and Canada.

"It's Your City" is a monthly show featuring city programs and services.  It airs several times each month on Bellevue TV (channel 21). In addition to its honors in 2007 and 2006, "It's Your City" received a second-place NATOA award in 2005.

"It's Your City" is produced under the direction of Tim Waters, Bellevue's communications director, and production staff includes: John Burwell, executive director; Dave Bruckner, producer/director; Robin Haaseth, executive director/host; and David Christie and David Richardson, editors. Bellevue TV is operated under a joint franchise agreement of the City of Bellevue and Bellevue Community College. 

NATOA is a nonprofit professional association whose mission is to support and serve the telecommunications interests and needs of local governments.
