Openings now on city commissions

The City Council is seeking candidates for vacancies on the Arts, Environmental Services and Human Services commissions. The city manager seeks candidates for an opening on the Civil Service Commission.

Applications for the Civil Service Commission opening will be accepted until the position is filled. Applications for seats on the other commissions will be accepted through April 22. Apply

  • The Arts Commission advises the council on ways to support arts and culture in Bellevue.
  • The Civil Service Commission oversees the recruitment, selection and placement of uniformed firefighters and sworn police officers. If additional information is desired about the commission, please call Evon Hartmann (425-452-6863).
  • The Environmental Services Commission advises the council on water, wastewater, storm and surface water and garbage programs regarding planning, budget and rates, financing for capital projects, contracts and policies.
  • The Human Services Commission advises the council about human services planning and funding. (Candidates may not, during their tenure as a commissioner, be a member of the board of directors of a human service agency.)
