Intergovernmental RelationsThe Intergovernmental Relations division of the City Manager’s Office ensures Bellevue’s interests are represented at the state, federal and regional government levels. Acting on behalf of the City Council, Bellevue staff work with staff and elected officials in all three levels of government to achieve positive results in the form of funding, regulation and service partnerships that benefit Bellevue residents.
The division helps the council identify, prioritize and formulate Bellevue’s policy goals, primarily through the development of yearly state and federal legislative agendas and subject-specific interest statements. In addition, Intergovernmental Relations staff analyze and resolve cross-jurisdictional issues.
Staff helps strengthen relationships and engagement with other public officials through participation in both informal partnerships and alliances, and formal boards and committees at the regional and state levels.
