Attention, downtown commuters who've thought about trying a different way of getting to work: For a short time longer, you might be able to get paid for it.
The City of Bellevue and its partners have launched Way to Work Bellevue, an online commute incentive program that offers eligible commuters up to $60 in transportation-related gift cards for trying out an alternative to driving alone.
To sign up, download a registration form at Choose Your Way Bellevue. The deadline for submitting registration forms is Friday, Feb. 18.
Way to Work Bellevue offers downtown Bellevue employees, who log their trips online at RideshareOnline.com, incentives for trying an alternative to solo commuting such as riding the bus, carpooling, vanpooling, biking or walking.
Way to Work Bellevue is one component of the city's Connect Downtown plan, aimed at relieving congestion. It's offered through a partnership between the city, King County Metro, TransManage (the transportation service of the Bellevue Downtown Association) and the state Department of Transportation.
