Fire Department preaches prevention in videos

The Bellevue Fire Department works with residents and businesses to help prevent fires. Using technology to deliver vital tips, the Fire Department is producing a series of videos. The first one -- Permits -– is now availabe for viewing.

"We wanted to reach more people with our message," said fire education coordinator Kathy Barker. "The series of 10-minute videos will cover a variety of fire prevention subjects, including cooking fire safety, fire permits and preventable responses."

To ensure the instructions reaching a broad audience, the fire department is having some of the videos translated into Spanish and Russian.
