FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, February 16, 2017

Police raid drug house

Bellevue police raided a north Bellevue home early Thursday to serve a narcotics search warrant. The home, on the 3000 block of 169th Avenue Northeast, had become a major nuisance location and had several complaints of drug dealing, possession of stolen property and transient activity.

The residence is less than a quarter mile from Ardmore Elementary School, and was a priority for investigators to dismantle. Special Operations Group detectives, bicycle patrol officers and members of the Bellevue Police SWAT team arrested the listed renter at the residence, a 35-year-old Bellevue man.

Other people in the home at the time were also detained and later released. The suspect is a convicted felon who will be booked into the King County Jail for possession and sale of narcotics. He is expected to be charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

Investigators seized cash and narcotics during the warrant service. The case will be forwarded to the King County Prosecutor's Office for the review and filing of charges, along with information about the proximity to an elementary school.
