Drive-by shooting suspect arrested

Suspect accused of firing shots into a vehicle

Bellevue Police have made an arrest in a drive-by shooting that occurred in the Phantom Lake neighborhood on Nov. 11. The suspect, 22-year-old Renton resident Jose Alfredo Del Rio Flores, was charged on Nov. 16 with one count of drive-by shooting, a felony.

Shortly after 4 a.m. on Nov. 11, Bellevue Police responded to a residence in the 2000 block of 154th Avenue Southeast after a report of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived, they discovered a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence at that location with several bullet holes in it. There were no injuries. Investigators learned that the victim lived at the targeted residence, and the victim and suspect knew each other.

Investigators were able to track down the suspect at his residence in Renton, where he was taken into custody later that day by the Bellevue Police Special Investigations Team and SWAT team. The gun used in the crime was also recovered. Flores was interviewed and booked into the King County Jail.
