Background and Location
The projects along this corridor are among the first transportation system improvements supporting the overall Bel-Red vision, providing for freight/mobility, capturing long-term transformation in land use through development and connecting with the city’s open-space/trail systems. The projects are directly influenced by the alignment of Sound Transit’s East Link light rail line and proposed station, in the area of 120th Avenue Northeast.
The changes in the corridor are part of a larger system of improvements. 124th Avenue connects the Wilburton neighborhood to the Bel-Red area and SR 520, transitioning from a residential area at the south end to a commercial and business are on the north end.
The following projects are part of the 124th Avenue Northeast Corridor Improvements:
- Wilburton Neighborhood Streetscape Enhancements;
- Northeast Eighth Street to Northeast 12th Street;
- Northeast 12th Street to Northeast 14th Street;
- Northeast 14th Street to Northeast 18th Street; and
- Northeast 18th Street to Northup Way.
