The City Council is seeking candidates for a newly established, independent salary commission. If you're interested, please apply by 5 p.m., Sept. 2.
Salaries for the councilmembers were last revised in 1999. On Aug. 1, the council adopted Ordinance 6306, creating an independent salary commission, which will meet several times this fall to review and establish salaries for the council in December.
The commission, which will disband after completing the salary review, will be made up of five volunteers, appointed by the mayor with City Council concurrence.
All commission members must be residents of Bellevue for at least a year preceding appointment and must be registered to vote in King County. No officer, official or employee of the city or any of their immediate family members may serve on the commission. Interviews are anticipated to take place in early September.
