South Bellevue water main repaired

Bellevue utilities crews repaired a water main break Wednesday afternoon in the 14700 block of Southeast Allen Road that occurred earlier that morning. Water was restored to 22 homes by 4 p.m. Puget Sound Energy is finishing up work on a gas main break that caused seven homes to be evacuated.

Allen Road, between 140th Avenue Southeast and 149th Avenue Southeast, has been closed all day Wednesday and should be open by 9 p.m. There was no damage to private property due to the water main break and no injuries. Damage to Allen Road will be repaired.

Twenty-two homes were without water; city crews expect service to be restored late Wednesday afternoon. The cause of the 6-inch water main break is unknown at this time, and crews will be checking the site further for possible causes.
