FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, July 24, 2014

Accessible voting at City Hall

While most people in King County now vote by mail, voters with disabilities can go to accessible voting centers equipped with assistive audio and visual technology. One of these voting centers is in Bellevue, at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE. Ballot drop boxes are also located on-site for voters to securely return their mail ballot, without the cost of postage. Ballot drop boxes are only available during the voting center's hours of operation.

The Bellevue voting center, in Room 1E-112, is open at the following times. There is free parking in the visitor garage, though availability is not guaranteed.

  • Monday, August 4: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 5: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

The King County Elections division has details concerning the other voting centers.

Accessible voting units offer lap paddles and sip-and-puff devices, as well as audio, and large and high-contrast text options.

To vote at an accessible voting center you must not have returned your mail ballot. You must provide proper identification and sign the voter oath. At this point, Elections staff will credit you with voting, and you will be issued a voter access card for use on the accessible voting unit. No paper ballots are issued at these locations.
