The Lake to Lake Bike Ride on Saturday, June 14, will provide riders of all levels and abilities with an opportunity to explore Bellevue by bicycle. Riders can choose between two different routes -- a mostly flat, approximately eight-mile Greenbelt Loop perfect for families or less experienced cyclists, and a more challenging 22-mile Lake to Lake Loop with some climbs.
Both rides start between 9 and 10 a.m. at Lake Hills Community Park, 1200 164th Ave. SE. Terrain on both routes includes low-traffic roads, bike lanes and gravel trails. The course will be well-marked and supported by staff and volunteers.
Experienced and beginning riders are encouraged to participate. All riders under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and please note that the event is not suggested for children under eight years old, unless riding in a trailer or tag-along.
The event will feature post-event prize raffles, refreshments and freebies for all participants. The first 150 to register will receive custom event socks by SOS Socks and all participants will receive a custom event t-shirt.
The cost is $15/rider with pre-registration, and $20/rider on the day of event. Proceeds will benefit the City of Bellevue Youth camp scholarship fund which helps makes it possible for all kids to enjoy healthy and fun recreation. To register, visit www.myParksandRecreation.com and enter activity code 86106. Space is limited, so pre-registration is recommended. Pending availability, on-site registration will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. on event day.
Chaplin's Bellevue Subaru has once again stepped up to be the title sponsor, and Cycle the Wave and the Bellevue Downtown Association are again event partners. Event sponsors are: Skout Nutrition, John Duggan Cycling Attorney, Honest Tea, Choose Your Way Bellevue, Whole Foods, Gregg's Cycles, Starbucks, Half Pops, Pace Sportswear, KAVU Sportswear, SOS Socks, Jamba Juice, Top Pot Doughnuts, Uwajimaya and The Microsoft Store. After the ride, there will be a prize giveaway, and the Emily McIntosh Trio will provide musical entertainment.
