News Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, November 25, 2013

Police now accepting some crime reports online

Some crimes can now be reported online to the Bellevue Police Department. The online crime reporting system allows you to submit a report immediately. After the report has been reviewed and approved, you may print a copy of the report free. If it is an emergency or a crime in progress, please call 9-1-1.

The crimes that can be reported online include vandalism, theft of services, littering, lost property, car prowls, thefts under $1500, abandoned vehicles, drug and crime tips, and harassing phone calls. Burglaries and car thefts still require a visit from an officer, but follow-up information can be supplied online.

The following requirements must be met by those wishing to use the online reporting system:

  • The incident is not an emergency or is not a crime in progress;
  • The incident occurred within the Bellevue city limits;
  • There are no known suspects;
  • There was no evidence left behind;
  • The incident did not occur on a state freeway; and
  • The person filing the report must be the victim of the crime and have a valid email address.

Those who want to report a crime by phone can call 425-577-5656.
