Neighborhood leaders invited to City Hall gathering

Neighborhood leaders and others interested in becoming more involved in their neighborhood are invited to a gathering at City Hall to participate in roundtable discussions and to hear from top city officials.

The Neighborhood Leadership Gathering takes place from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in room 1E-108 of City Hall, 450 110th  Ave. NE. The purpose of the event is to encourage dialogue among neighborhood leaders and to provide them an update on key issues from city staff.

Acting City Manager Brad Miyake will kick off the event by sharing his vision of Bellevue's future. In response to neighborhood concerns expressed at the first leadership gathering in February, Deputy Police Chief Jim Joliffe will provide an update regarding residential burglaries in Bellevue.

Participants are also invited to join interactive table discussions on important neighborhood issues, including: crime and safety, emergency preparedness, building bridges across language and cultures, improving communication with the city and revitalizing neighborhood associations.

Neighborhood association board members, emerging leaders and those interested in becoming more involved in their neighborhood are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to neighborhoodoutreach@bellevuewa.gov or 425-452-6836.
