Comments sought on Bellevue Utilities' budget, rates

The Environmental Services Commission is seeking comments on the city's proposed 2013-2014 Utilities' budget and utility rates during a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.

Attendees can provide written or oral comments at the meeting, which will be held in room 1E-113 of City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE.

Bellevue Utilities provides water, wastewater and storm drainage services, which, by law, are accounted for as separate enterprise funds. While the budgets for these funds are included in the city's overall budget, they are reviewed by the Environmental Services Commission, which advises the city council on Utilities' budgets, rates, planning and other issues.

As part of their review, the commission will hold the public hearing to solicit comments and input on the proposed Utilities' budget and rates. The city council will make a final decision on the city's overall budget, including the Utilities' budget and rates, in early December.

For additional information on the public hearing, contact Lucy Liu at 425-452-4445 or email LLiu@bellevuewa.gov
