At approximately 2 p.m. Saturday an unknown male drove up to an 18-year-old female in the southeast corner of Crossroads mall (15600 block of Northeast Eighth Street and told her to get in his car. When she backed away, he got out of his car, and attempted to grab and lift her, before noticing onlookers. The male jumped into his car and fled the area.
The woman, a Bellevue resident, described the attacker as a Hispanic male in his late 30s to early 40s, roughly 5-8 with a medium build, with a short buzz-cut and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect drove what was described as a dark green, older Geo four-door hatchback with a Washington license plate. The vehicle had a large dent on the left side of the rear bumper.
The attached sketch was created by a Bellevue Police Department sketch artist. The vehicle in the picture is similar to the one involved in the incident Saturday. If anyone recognizes this person, or was in the area at the time of the attempted kidnapping and witnessed it, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
